Before you buy waterfront

The view is only the beginning.

Start with how you’ll use it

A view, a dock, and direct boating access are different priorities. Identify what you actually want from the waterfront before you compare properties.

Investigate the property

Ask qualified professionals about flood exposure, elevation information, insurance, seawall condition, drainage, dock condition, and permitting. Consider ongoing maintenance as part of the ownership budget.

Confirm boating details

If boating matters, independently verify water depth, tides, bridge clearance, access restrictions, and any association rules for your vessel. A beautiful view alone cannot answer those questions.
